The Understudy
Wednesday was a dragging day, with all the student loans and paper work to deal with. That was just as stressful. The majority of the day spent at studying new artist and their work, particularly Albert Oehlen. It is irrelevant compared to the style and aesthetic of my work, but I’m focusing on a new element in each artist, using that as a base for new studies.

I will be going back to study German Expressionism and abstract, mainly because of the influence in my art. Otto Dix, Egon Schiele, and Otto Mueller all share an element in my work. But it isn’t where I’m exactly copying line-by-line, simply using them as a foundation to which I can build more element of my own personality to it really.

Oh, this is bleak. I managed to pull myself together for about 12 interviews, and not one person ever had the integrity to call me and ‘thank me for my time.’ Absolutely ridiculous, and I even skipped some classes, lunch dates to attend these interviews. What’s even more grim? The fact that I quit my job at the pizzeria without a job lined up.
